Governing Philosophy

  • Public service above self-interest

  • Honesty, openness, and trust are essential to good governance

  • Legislators must be knowledgeable of what they are legislating

  • The good of the country & of the American citizen must be paramount

  • Ethics are something you must bring with you and cannot be provided by committee

  • The people's perspective is woefully absent in government.  Instead of bringing Washington back to the district, a representative must bring the district's perspective and concerns to Washington to help shape our government.

"I do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God."
